TXHSFB in the Super Bowl: Josh Reynolds

STORIES WITH HOMETOWN PERSPECTIVE
Only one Aggie will have a chance to “gig” a Super Bowl ring on Sunday night.
San Antonio-native Josh Reynolds will be one of Jared Goff’s primary targets as he slips into the slot. A minor role player to start the season, it was an injury to Cooper Kupp that thrust Reynolds into a position that has him primed to contribute for the Rams.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Reynolds was a two-way player for John Jay High School of Northside ISD. He was rated a three-star recruit out of high school but did not get a scholarship. He eventually signed with Tyler Junior College where he once again was ranked a three-star recruit coming out.
He impressed the coaches at Texas A&M enough to sign and had a stellar career which included setting a Texas A&M Aggies season school record for touchdowns, breaking the mark of 12 previously held by Pro Bowler Mike Evans. He stayed for his senior season and eventually was drafted by the Rams who were looking to take their offense back to the glory days of the Greatest Show On Turf.
The former Mustang standout is grateful for all the support his alma mater shows him. It doesn’t hurt that his mother is an assistant principal at Jay.
"When you have somebody who's a Jay product, who's from San Antonio, who's representing Northside ISD, who's representing really who we are at Jay High School, you always pull for them," said the head football coach for the Jay Mustangs, Coach Gary Gutierrez speaking to Robert Price with San Antonio’s Channel 4. "You can't ask for any better situation… We're real proud of him."
The school held a pep rally in celebration and even the mustang statue that sits in the middle of the school is wearing a Josh Reynolds jersey.
Reynolds (@J_Rey_11) sent a couple tweets thanking his hometown.
If he wins the Super Bowl, maybe the mustang statue will get a ring, too.
